Demand for in-company training courses exceeds open enrollment

Many providers within niches

The efficiency of in-company training given by employers is estimated to be four times more effective than that of open courses. These results were found through an investigation by NIDAP that was commissioned by Springest.nl. The findings proved that clients have more difficulties finding a suitable course offer due to a growing number of smaller providers within niches.

Employers have the ability to educate or train their employees when they feel that it would benefit the company. In addition to internal learning in the workplace, the employer may also choose external-open or in-company training. The research shows that in-company training is more effective than courses with open enrollment. Also, in-company courses prove to provide the most return of investment for employers.

Department managers have most impact on participants and time

Department managers are the most influential characters in times of setting up a training course and determining who the participants will be. Ruben Timmerman, Springest CEO, provides a better explanation of the choice process for in-company learning: “Trainers have raised our awareness to the importance of customized training. In-company training was responsible for at least 60 percent of the total revenue for the higher-level trainers in 2012. As the budget is decreasing, the issues concerning the organization are becoming more complex.”

Many unknown players outside of the niche

Significantly more than half of the organisations that utilize in-company training programs are not likely to choose their preferred supplier as a primary resource (most commonly found in construction, ICT & media, and governmental branches). Timmerman adds, “There are many new players within the in-company market who fall into categories outside of their niche, which makes it even more difficult for the employer to select the correct learning provider.”

About Springest In-company

An in-company application form can be found on the Springest website in which visitors are given the ability to leave behind their contact details in order to place a request for a customized training course. The request will be presented to the corresponding Springest learning providers and trainers after the visitor submits a request for a specified target group, the desired content and results. The trainer will make a proposition when he or she can match the criteria of the request form. Each visitor that completes an in-company request form will be approached by three learning providers max. Timmerman concludes, “This way, the providers are making a relevant selection of suppliers themselves. Consequently, the visitor saves time when searching for trainers, as well as requesting and comparing different offers.”
